Privacy Policy
Inspecta App Summary
Inspecta helps you browse public Saskatchewan food-establishment inspection information. We do not require an account and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other contact information.
Information we do not collect
We do not intentionally collect or store:
- Name, email, phone number, or mailing address
- Payment or financial information
- Government ID or account credentials
- Health information about you
- Contacts, photos, or files on your device
There is no sign-in and no user profile in Inspecta.
Location (optional)
If you choose "Near me”, the app may request approximate device location so it can sort facilities by distance.
- Location is used only when you enable that feature
- Sorting happens on your device; we do not send your location to our own servers or store it in a user database
- You can deny location permission and still use the rest of the app
Information the app loads (public data)
Inspecta reads public inspection and facility data from remote services (including Google Firebase / Firestore) so the app can show restaurant names, addresses, inspection history, and scores.
That data is about food establishments, not about you.
Third-party services
Inspecta uses industry-standard services that may process limited technical data (such as IP address, device type, and app requests) under their own policies:

We do not control how third parties handle network traffic to their services.
Analytics and advertising
Inspecta does not show ads and does not sell your data.
We do **not** currently use a separate analytics SDK to track individual users. If we add privacy-respecting usage analytics in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.
Children
Inspecta is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention
Because we do not operate user accounts, we do not maintain a personal data profile for you. Public facility data is refreshed from official sources on a schedule managed by our backend systems.
Security
We use HTTPS for network communication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we aim to protect the integrity of the service.
Your choices
- Location: Control via your device settings; deny permission to use Inspecta without “Near me” sorting
- External links: Opening Inspection InSite or other websites leaves Inspecta and is subject to those sites’ policies
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of Inspecta after an update means you accept the revised policy.
